Gardens
are a
natural haven from the stress and strains of modern life.
Inscriptions
amongst the flower beds can offer a reflective moment.
Olney,
being the
home of John Newton and William Cowper (the home of Amazing
Grace)
provides a wealth of inspirations.
The
Amazing Grace inscription is on rough slate (2-3 foot high),
and
mounted by a stainless steel dowel to a plinth hidden under the ground:
so given the illusion of balancing on end - as if my magic!
